About the Coalition

The Reusable Textile Coalition (RTC) consists of industry leaders across Canada with the shared belief that Canadians deserve a responsible and effective policy approach to address the environmental crisis in single-use textiles.

Over the years, the textile industry has been recognized as
one of the largest contributors to landfill or incineration
waste, leaving a significant carbon footprint.

Who we are?

We are a non-profit organization calling on policymakers to act now to implement legislation for the exclusive use of reusable textiles and elimination of single-use textiles in sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, tourism and others. We believe these timely discussions will help secure a better future for generations to come.

The RTC is also a secure space for knowledge-sharing and an educational platform for practitioners to transmit their know-how and discuss current industry issues.

Support is open to anyone who shares our vision, and registration is free.

  • Build a network of partners and experts in the textile and other industries who believe in our cause and are committed to implementing sustainable environmental practices.
  • Urge policymakers to enact legislation to eliminate disposable textiles.
  • Be active throughout the year by hosting and attending speaking events on topics that align with our mission.
