Reusable Textile coalition

The Reusable Textile Coalition (RTC) is a coalition of industry
leaders across Canada. We provide leadership in educating Canadian stakeholders about the importance of creating effective policies and laws in order to address the environmental impact caused by single-use textiles.
We unite the voices of those who believe we have a responsibility to provide Canadians with a responsible
and effective approach to tackling this environmental crisis.

Committed to
the Environment

The purpose of this coalition is to eliminate the use of disposable textiles to create a cleaner, safer, and sustainable environment for future generations. We will inform, educate and guide the discussion in our communities about the effects of single-use textiles on the environment so that leaders adopt a long-term vision to reduce textile waste.

Reusable
Textiles

The mass production and use of single-use textiles is damaging ecosystems and leaving a significant carbon footprint worldwide. These potentially contaminated and harmful disposable products (from disposable masks to isolation and surgical gowns) end up in landfills. These landfills are often found within local communities, near food and water sources, as well as schools and playgrounds. We are calling on policymakers to legislate and promote reusable textiles in order to create sustainability within our industry.

99% of the non-wearable textiles end up in landfills in Canada
